Mackwell Supplies Eemergency Lighting To Willmott Dixon Interiors HQ

Based in Farrington Street, Clerkenwell, in the heart of London’s design quarter, the Willmott Dixon building has seen a complete refurbishment with the aim of improving general building performance, agility and efficiency.  The project has included Mackwell’s low voltage emergency lighting, a new CAT6 UTP cabling infrastructure, site-wide IP security that includes CCTV, Access Control and Audio & Video Intercom system, in addition to the installation of LED luminaires for general lighting throughout the facility.

As part of the general lighting project, LMG specified Mackwell’s emergency lighting system for installation on all seven floors of the building.  The company selected a combination of Mackwell’s XYLUX^® LR4 emergency luminaires and XY-VEX LED exit signs.   XYLUX^® LR4 is a non-maintained luminaire and XY-VEX is available as either maintained or non-maintained, with both being utilised as part of the Wilmott Dixon installation...

...The XYLUX^® LR4 features specifically designed snap-in optics and its compact design makes it ideal for a variety of interior applications including corridors, stairwells and open plan office space.  Each lamp head on the XYLUX^® LR4 contains an integrated bi-colour indicator system and test switch and 500mm wiring loom, whilst recessed mounting brackets allow for quick and easy on-site installation.
 
Mackwell’s XY-VEX architectural 3 hour LED exit signs, in both maintained and non-maintained versions, designed for fast fix installations that allows wiring to be complete before decoration, were also chosen for the project. Available with a choice of technology options which includes DALI, the XY-VEX incorporates high performance LEDs to provide a 50,000 hour life.
 

The entire emergency system is powered and monitored by Mackwell’s N-light^® EC, an intelligent low-voltage LED emergency panel that provides a central component for powering and commissioning Mackwell’s emergency lighting systems.  N-light^® EC works in harmony with all of the general lighting in the building, which is also powered via category cable. 

N-light^® EC is a fast and simple approach to installing emergency lighting as all products are connected via a plug-in category cable, eliminating wiring errors and N-light^® software assists in the commissioning phase and simple reporting of the emergency system.  This reduces the impact on personnel and resources as N-light^® software provides the ability to setup automatic testing and reporting to ensure the system is maintained and monitored in line with the latest safety standards and regulations.
