Cathode Heating
The permanent cathode heating improves starting and life performance, especially at low power levels in modern low mercury lamps.
End of Life Protection
End of lamp life protection ensures shutdown to prevent ballast damage. The ballast automatically restarts when the lamp is replaced. Shutdown activates under the following conditions:
- Lamp operates, but one cathode is de-activated or broken.
- Lamp operates, but with both cathodes de-activated or broken.
- Lamp operates, but with strongly increased lamp voltage, e.g. leak-in of impurities.
- Lamp does not start, but both cathodes are intact (e.g. cracked lamp)
Voltage Sensing Circuit
The AC power supply is sensed so that switching occurs at between 60% and 85% of the nominal mains supply.
Indicator
The LED indicator is illuminated when a charge is flowing to the cells. Flexible 1x0.6mm high temperature orange and pink leads connect the indicator to the module. The indicator requires a 8mm hole.
Deep Discharge Protection
The inverter module incorporates deep discharge protection (DDP), to prevent damage to the batteries caused by deep discharge and possible subsequent reverse cell polarity.
